Gail Sigford 44-W-10 |

WASP Gail Sigford passed away on May 2, 2007 after loosing a battle with stomach cancer. Given the opportunity to write about her life in the 44-W-10 "The Lost Last Class of Avenger Field," published in 1996, Gail wrote just a few words, short and sweet: "Have lived, low these many decades, a quiet, pleasant miscellaneous life in the Pacific Northwest, and intend to continue on and on." A talented artist, Gail drew the cartoon at right for the 44-W-10 class book. It remains a shining example of the wonderful sense of humor of a young lady pilot who successfully completed training and earned her silver wings. To Gail, being a WASP was one of the most significant things she ever did.
